Hi
I have had Ninka for some time now, but i have never been quite satisfied with then.
I have an Ikemi and Kairn, and used to have 3*LK85 but now 2*2250 active.

Have some of you replaced Ninka with AV5140, Espek or other, and what was in your oppinion the difference to Ninka.

Sorry - men mit engelske er bedre end mit svenske

I think you need to be more precise when you describe what you lack using the Ninkas. I've had them, and I was satisfied, but found the Katan/Sizmik combo much more tuneful and entertaining. The Espeks play more bass than Ninka, but are more precise and accurate in their sound. The treble- and midrange drivers in Espek are the same as in Katan.

Have you received help to setup your active Ninkas by your retailer? An active system is even more demanding in terms of proper setup.

I would recommend you to contact your nearest dealer for a demo of active Katan with or without the Sizmik.

If needed, arrange with your dealer to have your system setup properly!

Good luck

Ninka is a good all-round speaker = decent result with budget items before...
Katan is a demanding speaker = not so good result with budget items before... but great result with good equipment feeding them!

Ninka has a lower max level performance.
(Note this is my personal thoughts...)

I don’t have that much experience with Espek (just heard them a few times) but they are very good speakers. Skip the 5140!

This is my advice - FIRST try an Exotik in your house and let the Linn retailer tune the system.
Clearly, the preamp is the weak link the your present setup.
I bet you will be overly excited by the sound using Exotik...

Then... decide how much you intend to invest in the system.

Some ideas...
3*2250/aktive Espek
2*2250/aktive katan + sub
or... if you intend to spend more... Akurate 242 :D

But before addressing the loudspeaker, I suggest you listen to some of Linn’s CD/DVD offerings

I have Ninkas with Exotik preamp, and it surely does not sound bad!
