Hi David plinth is dated as serial no : 1981 - 82 ish but the plinth type is older 1975 -77 ish as it has the oval cut for Lid stud for the Lenco Lid.
Serial no 30000 ish they had find a lost stock of these on 1981 ish and they added the "newer" lid brackets on the fluted backside.

If there is holes for the old Lenco hinges behind brackets on the plinth it is 1975 - 77 ish, is there no holes for old Lenco brackets only for the new brackets in plastic it is mount together in 1981.

As you stated that it is cornerbraced these where "not" these years earliest 1984 on Greaves of Sheffield what i know.
If there is corner braces they are added later and not original.

What is the truth of it ?

Is it an 1975-77 it has added an serial number later, if it is mount together 1981 ish it is rare.

Thank you for your enquiry.
As to holes behind the brackets themselves, I cant answer. I dont wish to unscrew the brackets at this point. I can confirm the brackets are screwed on, 2 screws either side.
I have contacted Linn re your request, will let you know as regards to their reply.

I can confirm the corner braces were added by a Linn dealer.

Colin confirms manufactured 1981.

Yes had a chat with him to before as he told me that is written above and serial number make it manufaktured 1981.
Hence the discussion I was interested in the plinth until i see that it had the new type of hinges added.
